These words do more than merely describe my outlook on the path I've chosen in life, they explain it in a way I never could. Photography is my one true passion and has been for many years. At an early age I was drawn to it and wherever I went, my trusty camera went along. After graduating high school I went to work full-time for an electronics company while saving for college. I intended to continue my education in the field of television production and enrolled in community college to work off those beloved gen-ed credits. Yearning for a creative outlet, I took on several photography courses believing, at the time, it was the next best thing to television production. It was then I realized that what I had yearned for all along was the still image and not the moving picture. A photograph leaves much open to interpretation; it is what the viewer wills it to be. It can carry us off to a distant place, far from the distractions of our daily routine and struggles, or take us back to a moment in time bringing to the surface, once again, thoughts and emotions long buried in our memory. It is a link to the past, a view of the present, and a gift to the future. Simply stated, where words fail a picture says it all.
